Don't Forget
I really loved the Lunchbox. It was probably the first Indian film I've ever seen, and it offered a really interesting look into their lifestyle (and I learned that they intermittently use full English sentences quite a lot). Even though I did not completely understand all of the cultural elements of the movie, I was able to connect with the main characters because of how they wrote letters back and forth. I am a part of a lot of internet communities where people know me without really knowing who I am - forums, blogs, and the like. When I'm there I feel like I can talk about things I might not talk about with people I know face to face because its easier not to judge me. And I don't judge them. It was not always like that, conversations would start by just posting about how our day went, what we had been drawing recently, etc. But once we started to get to know each other some of our deeper concerns, troubles, and questions would come up. Things I know I wouldn't always be so comfortable to talk about with other people in my life. I care for my friends online and I think they truly care about me. There was a bit of a parallel between my own experiences and that of Ila and Saajan. It can be easier to talk about more personal and deeper things with people you don't really know, almost like you are just sharing your lives with a random person - its like they said in the movie, sometimes you need to tell people things in order to not forget them.

That is an interesting point, that you can talk to people online about some things that you wouldn't say to people face to face. I couldn't see before how Ila and Saajan told such personal things to each other so fast, and without meeting, but now I see a different side of it. Interesting.
