So this Sunday we watched The Lunchbox and I was expecting a lot more out of this movie than I got. I personally didn't really enjoy the movie quite as much as I thought I would. I feel like the film drug on and on and on through the notes and I am not used to slow progression in movies. I felt pretty bored during The Lunchbox and I really wish that these two could have met at least once. I guess I'm more of a cheesy person when it comes to movies, but I would rather have it go my way than leave me hanging. I never enjoy movies that leave me hanging unless they have a sequel, in which case I will watch the sequel to get my fill. I suppose one thing I did enjoy about this movie is the strong bond between Ila’s family and herself. I also liked how Fernandez and Ila could really connect on the same topics of each category. I personally thought it was strange that they went from salty food to really detailed information about each other’s lives though. One of the biggest highlights for me in The Lunchbox was the conversations between Auntie and Ila, they were pretty comical.

  1. Yeah, I didn't enjoy this movie much either, and I think maybe it was because, like you said, I didn't see how they got to talking about such personal things so fast. Maybe if I watch it again sometime I can pay closer attention to that progression.
