Yojimbo

This post is not to offend anyone who liked the movie Yojimbo, but personally I did not like it very much. Yojimbo kind of bored me and I got confused a lot of the movie.. especially at the beginning. The fighting scenes were pretty cheesy and you could definitely tell it was fake. XD The cheesy parts are the only parts I truly laughed at. I did enjoy the part where the samurai saved the guy’s wife and let them all run away though. I thought that it was very heroic. I guess I just all around did not enjoy the movie because I am not used to subtitles as well as the Japanese culture. This movie reminded me a lot of Mulan except there weren’t any female samurais, of course. I really do enjoy watching the movie Mulan, though. So maybe I did not enjoy Yojimbo because of the way it was filmed… I suppose that is always a possibility and I am sure I am not the only one who did not like it as much as what was hoped for. It was really hard to tell if the main character was a good or bad guy at the beginning until really late in the movie. I just feel like this was a movie almost too old for me to enjoy I guess, which is a real shame.
