Ikiru was aweessoommmee. I felt the plot to be kind of cliche, but then I remembered how old the movie is, and it was possibly one of the first to start the cliche. That cliche being the main character is set to die soon and realizes they've been wasting their life so they do something big or start living their full life.
It made a very fascinating point to think about: Was it really Watanabe who should be given the praise of the park, or those who actually built it. I personally was on Watanabe's side. He didn't build the park, but he was the only one who cared enough and really pushed to get the actual forms signed and get the process moving. Had Watanabe not done this, the park may never have been built at all.
The business men felt so very pompous and it was enraging. I have not realized how much I hate bureaucracy until this year of college xD the paperwork, how long it takes for things to get approved, or at least for you to get the next step. It's all so tedious, time-consuming, and miserable.
